Terms of Service

By using EyeEdit Editing, Proofreading and Writing Services, you (the client) agree that you understand and agree to the following Terms of Service:

1)   ServicesEyeEdit provides quality editing, proofreading and writing services; however, it is the client’s responsibility to ensure the accuracy of the edited document before use. In addition, the client is responsible for accepting or rejecting the changes an editor makes to his or her document and/or following the editor’s suggestions. It is the client’s responsibility to make a final inspection of the project.  Any recommendations made by EyeEdit are recommendations only.  It is the client’s responsibility to determine whether to implement our recommendations.  Our services do not include fact checking, unless mutually agreed to in writing.

2)   Copyright and Ownership.  The client retains complete ownership and copyright of the client’s submitted materials, regardless of the level of service EyeEdit performs on the material. The client is responsible for the content of the document and guarantees that all documents submitted are his or her own. EyeEdit is not liable for copyright infringement or the intellectual property rights of any document submitted to EyeEdit.

3)   PRIVACY POLICY.  EyeEdit will never share, sell, or rent client personal information without your advance permission or unless ordered by a court of law. Additionally, we do not sell or give away client documents. All information you provide to us is kept in the strictest confidence, and we delete your document after 30 days (unless you request otherwise). Information submitted to EyeEdit is only available to EyeEdit staff members who are managing this information for purposes of contacting you or sending you e-mails based on your request for information and/or service.  Each staff member who works for us has signed a confidentiality agreement.

4)   ResultsEyeEdit does not guarantee the results of any edited document or (in the case of personal statements) that any school or academic program will accept you.   Further, we are not responsible for the reception your material receives from the editors, employers, instructors or other readers.

5)   Academic IntegrityEyeEdit supports the principles of academic integrity.  It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that the use of EyeEdit services does not go against the rules and regulations set out by the client’s academic institution.

6)   Legal Action and Statute of Limitations.  The client agrees to refrain from any legal action against EyeEdit and its staff due to any damages or loss, financial or otherwise, resulting from the client’s use of our editing and proofreading services.  Any cause of action by the Client against EyeEdit and any providers of services performed on the Work, must be instituted within one (1) month after completion of services on the Work or be forever waived and barred.

7)   Cause Beyond Our ControlEyeEdit is not liable to the client for any failure to fulfill its contractual obligations if such failure is due to fire, flood, law, governmental or political action, act of nature or any other cause beyond our control.  In the event of such an occurrence, EyeEdit will complete the work as soon as is practical and will make all reasonable efforts to inform the client of the situation at our earliest opportunity.

8)   Service Satisfaction.  If you are dissatisfied with our services, please contact us: eyeeditonline (at) gmail.com. We will make every effort to correct the situation. However, once we have performed and/or delivered services, the client has seven (7) business days in which to express dissatisfaction or request revisions (if revisions were included in the order). If we have not received notification of dissatisfaction or request for revision within seven (7) business days of sending the document to the customer, we will consider the project/services complete, satisfactory, and fully acceptable to the client.

9)   Cancellation.  If the client decides to cancel service once the editing process has begun, EyeEdit may charge a fee for the completed portion of the project.

10)   Communication.  The customer is responsible for checking e-mail for correspondence concerning a project. The customer should make every effort to send read receipts when requested to inform us that correspondence has been received. The customer is also responsible for contacting us as soon as possible if his/her document has not been returned by the deadline specified. Please be sure all of our e-mail addresses are added to your address book to assist in delivery of any correspondence.

11)   Right of RefusalEyeEdit reserves the right to refuse service at its discretion and/or terminate service at any time without explanation.

12)   RefundsEyeEdit is not legally obligated to refund the price of any service performed, although we may decide to issue a partial or full refund of our service fee if we determine that we are responsible for returning a document to the client with errors.

EyeEdit may amend these terms of service at any time without notice.  Any amendment and/or update will only be effective for contracts signed after the change has been posted here on our website.
